This is another custom-made project from Blue Sea Wood with some interesting details. The customer ordered two jointed teak wood tables at the same time, but wanted each table to have a different leg style and leg position depending on how it would be used.
Both tables were made at our workshop and delivered to the customer’s home in Koh Samui.
Table 1: 90 × 240 cm Dining Table with White X-Shaped Legs
The first table is a large dining table measuring 90 × 240 cm.
The customer wanted a natural-looking jointed teak wood top in our Minimal tone, combined with large white X-shaped steel legs made from 3 × 3 inch steel tubes.

- Legs positioned further in from the ends to leave comfortable seating space at both ends of the table
Before we drilled the mounting holes, the customer specifically asked us to leave approximately 20–25 cm of space at each end of the dining table so that chairs could be placed there comfortably.
On a 240 cm long dining table, the leg position makes a real difference. If the legs are placed too close to the ends, they can reduce the available space for anyone sitting at the head of the table.
Table 2: 100 × 200 × 90 cm Bar Table with Black Rectangular Legs
The second table is a bar table, or counter-height table, measuring 100 × 200 × 90 cm.
For this table, the customer wanted a clearly different look from the dining table. They chose black rectangular steel legs and asked us to position both legs as close to the ends of the tabletop as possible to create a clean counter-table appearance.

This is a good example of how two wooden tables can require very different leg positions, even when they are made from the same type of wood.
A dining table needs to allow enough room for chairs and people sitting at the ends, while this bar table was intentionally designed with the legs close to the tabletop edges to create a stronger counter-style look.
Custom-Made Furniture Is About More Than Choosing a Size
Throughout the order, we discussed several details with the customer, including table dimensions, wood tone, leg style, leg color, height, and the exact position of each set of legs.
Before drilling the mounting holes, we sent photos to the customer so they could confirm the leg positions. Once everything was approved, we prepared the pre-drilled holes for assembly.
Because both tables are large, we packed the wooden tabletops and steel legs separately to help reduce the risk of damage during transportation. The mounting positions and pre-drilled holes were prepared in advance to make assembly easier at the destination.
After Receiving Both Tables
After the tables arrived, the customer sent us photos and said:
“Yes, I’m really happy. Thank you so much.”
The customer also thanked us for our professionalism throughout the custom-order process.
For us, custom-made furniture is not simply about producing a table in a specific size. It is also about getting the smaller details right — such as the leg style, table height, and leg position — so that the finished piece works properly in the customer’s actual space.
