Custom Order Spotlight: Solid Wood Table Top in ‘Padauk Finish’ with Flush-Mounted Power Outlet
Ideally, our clients look for solid wood furniture that isn’t just beautiful, but perfectly supports their daily life. For this piece, the client required a large, single-slab table top that offered convenient access to power for devices, while maintaining the elegance and natural touch of the wood.
The Creation Process: Attention to Every Detail
Once we received the brief, the Blue Sea Wood team got to work creating this special piece.

Wood Selection: We started by selecting a large slab with unique character, sized perfectly for a table top (2.5 meters long, approx. 80 cm wide). We photographed the wood grain and sent options to the client to choose their favorite. The selected piece features flowing, dimensional grain and the durability characteristic of genuine solid wood.

Two-Style Edge Design: To fit the client’s space perfectly, we cut one side straight and smooth for flush wall placement. On the opposite side, we preserved the ‘Live Edge’ to maintain the natural charm and softness of the wood.

Embedded Power Strip Channel: This is the highlight of the piece! The client sent us the actual power strip they intended to use so we could measure it precisely. Our craftsmen meticulously routed a rectangular channel with a supporting lip, ensuring the power strip sits flush with the wood surface. The result is a seamless, beautiful look with no clutter.

- ‘Padauk Color’ Finishing: After sanding the surface to perfection, we applied a ‘Padauk’ stain as requested. This reddish-dark brown tone accentuates the wood grain, making it pop with life. The final coating provides a perfect sheen, soft reflection, and a deep, beautiful color depth.
